What is HEIC?
HEIC (HEIF) is an image format used by iPhones and other devices. It stores high-quality photos in less space than JPG, but some Windows computers, online application forms and apps can’t open or accept it. In those cases, converting to JPG, which works almost everywhere, solves the problem.
Choosing the output format
JPG (recommended)
Works on almost every computer, phone and website. If you’re not sure, choose JPG.
PNG
A format that doesn’t lose quality easily, but files are larger.
PDF (combine into one)
Places the photos you choose on A4 pages and combines them into one PDF. Useful for submitting photos of documents.
How to stop saving photos as HEIC
On your iPhone, go to Settings → Camera → Formats and choose “Most Compatible”. New photos will be saved as JPG. Use this tool to convert photos already saved as HEIC.

Your photos are never uploaded
Your photos aren’t uploaded to a server; they’re converted in your browser. Personal photos are never sent anywhere. Many or very large photos may take a while to convert.
