Resize Image – Change Image Dimensions by Pixels or Percentage

A free tool that changes the dimensions (pixels) of JPG, PNG, WebP and HEIC images. Set the size three ways: longest side in pixels, width and height, or a percentage. Resize many images at once, and change the format if you like.

Your files are processed in your browser and are never uploaded to a server.

How to resize images

  1. 1Tap “Select images”, or drag and drop images (you can choose several).
  2. 2Choose how to set the size (longest side, width and height, or percentage) and enter a value.
  3. 3Choose the output format.
  4. 4Tap “Resize images” and download them one by one or as a ZIP.

Good to know
  • Very large images (over about 24 megapixels) are scaled down before processing.

When you need to resize images

  • An application form asks for a size such as “at least 600px wide”
  • You want images on a blog or online shop to be the same size
  • You need a size that fits a social media icon or header
  • You want to shrink large photos to reduce file size

Three ways to set the size

Longest side in pixels

Sets the longer side of each image to the pixel count you enter. It keeps sizes consistent even when portrait and landscape photos are mixed.

Width and height

Set the width and height in pixels. With “Keep aspect ratio”, entering one value sets the other automatically so the image isn’t stretched. If you enter both, the image is sized to fit inside that box.

Percentage

Set a scale relative to the original. At 50%, width and height are both halved.

Output formats

Choose the same format as the original, JPG, PNG or WebP. JPG suits photos, and PNG suits images where you want to keep a transparent background.

A note on enlarging

Making an image larger than the original stretches it by filling in pixels, so it looks blurry. Where possible, use a size smaller than the original.
